Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA-8) brings over 37 years of public service experience to Washington. He is serving his fourth term as the Representative from the Eighth Congressional District, which is comprised of Seattle’s eastern suburbs, including Mount Rainier and the city of Bellevue.

Congressman Reichert serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, and sits on the subcommittees on Trade and Health.  The congressman is an appointed member of the President’s Export Council, where he continues his vocal advocacy for a robust trade agenda, and is Vice Chair of the National Security Solutions Group. 

Congressman Reichert recently sat down with the Forum for an enlightened conversation on tax reform, trade, the Export-Import Bank, the interoperable public safety network, and the art of compromise.

Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO-2) is a successful innovator and entrepreneur, having founded several successful internet companies, including Proflowers.com and bluemountain.com.

Before he was first elected to Congress in 2008 to represent Colorado’s 2nd District, Mr. Polis served six years on the Colorado State Board of Education.  The Congressman is well known for his entrepreneurial thinking in the area of education, having previously founded not one but two innovative charter schools in Colorado.

Congressman Polis currently serves on the House Judiciary and Rules Committees, as well as the House Democratic Steering Committee, where he serves as a Regional Whip.

Congressman Polis touched on a variety of important topics including tax reform, intellectual property, immigration, and education.

In early 2011, the congressman was tapped by the Speaker of the House and Majority Leader to Chair a Cybersecurity Task Force to make recommendations in a number of areas including updating existing laws, protecting critical infrastructure, and sharing cybersecurity information. The report, released on October 5, 2011, received favorable reviews from Republicans and Democrats in the House and the Senate, as well as the White House, private businesses, and other outside organizations.

Congressman Thornberry first joined the Digital Dialogue Forum in 2003. During his most recent meeting with the Forum, the congressman discussed ongoing policy efforts to enhance cybersecurity, including the need for information sharing; the international aspect; and protecting industry’s ability to remain innovative.

A fifth generation Texan, Congressman Mac Thornberry (R-TX-13) is a lifelong resident of the 13th District of Texas. His family has been ranching in the area since 1881 - a family business in which the congressman remains actively involved.
